Where can I park my bike ?

For secure parking, sheltered from the elements, free bike lock-ups are available at:

Quai de la République, near Rue Lebeuf
Rue de Preuilly, near the Stade Auxerrois
Rue de l’Île aux Plaisirs, between the Silex and the Conservatoire de Musique

The individual lockers are self-service and can be used for periods of less than 48 hours. Any cyclist is free to use them if a space is available. To do so, they simply need to park their bike inside an available locker, secure it with their own lock and close the locker using their padlock.

For longer-term parking, a communal bike storage service is available to facilitate access to parking, particularly for cyclists who cannot store their bikes at home.

Three communal bike storage facilities, each with six spaces, are located at the following sites:

rue du Pont (before the Paul Bert bridge)

Practical information:

The free city centre shuttle: the shuttle runs a loop through Auxerre city centre, starting and finishing at L’Arquebuse (dedicated stop, in front of the War Memorial). It makes it easier to get around the city centre, providing convenient access to shops in particular, as well as to tourist attractions (with stops in front of Saint Etienne Cathedral, Saint Germain Abbey and Place des Cordeliers at the foot of Old Auxerre and the Clock Tower). It runs every 25 minutes and operates continuously from 8.35 am to 7 pm (time of the last departure) from Monday to Saturday.

Flexibus on-demand transport in the Auxerre conurbation is available from Monday to Saturday, 7.00 am to 7.00 pm (excluding public holidays), by booking, for the price of a bus ticket (€1.50). It’s never been easier to get around the Auxerre area!

I travel around the wine-growing villages on the OenoBus…

Discover the Auxerrois vineyards in a different way with the OenoBus!

Fancy a wine-tasting getaway without having to worry about driving? Hop on board the OenoBus and set off to meet the passionate winegrowers who make the Auxerrois vineyards so special.

Every Tuesday during the summer season, this shuttle takes you through the most beautiful wine-growing villages of the Auxerrois for just €8 per person.

Departing from Auxerre, the OenoBus serves six iconic villages: Escolives-Sainte-Camille, Coulanges-la-Vineuse, Irancy, Chitry, Saint-Bris-le-Vineux and the hamlet of Bailly. Each week, two destinations are on offer to ensure a varied experience.

Get off at the villages to stroll through the narrow streets, meet the winegrowers, taste their wines and explore the countryside at your own pace, or visit the tourist attractions. Would you rather simply admire the vineyards? Stay comfortably seated on board and let yourself be whisked away to the heart of the vineyards.

Your ticket also gives you free access to guided tours of the villages, to further enrich your experience.

The town of Auxerre is served by Auxerre-Saint-Gervais station via the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté TER regional train network. It offers direct or connecting services to Paris (around 1 hour 45 minutes), Dijon, Laroche-Migennes, Avallon, Clamecy and Corbigny.

Main destinations and routes:
Paris: Regular services to Paris-Bercy or via Laroche-Migennes (journey times from 1 hour 45 minutes).
Dijon: Services to the regional capital.
Laroche-Migennes: A nearby hub for numerous connections.
Morvan / Nivernais: Trains to Avallon, Clamecy and Corbigny.

In the Auxerre area, Champs / Yonne – St Bris station on the line to Avallon – Clamecy and Monéteau – Gurgy station on the Auxerre – Laroche Migennes – Paris line are served by regular services.

There are plenty of options available if you wish to get about on foot:

there are pedestrianised streets in Auxerre
the Coulée Verte, which circles the city for 15 km: follow the route of the old railway line that used to lead to Gien through lush greenery, then stroll through the streets to reach the higher parts of the city and complete the loop by walking alongside the River Yonne, admiring the city’s majestic monuments from the right bank
