But as soon as you enter the main courtyard, you discover a sumptuous décor... a classic 17th-century masterpiece designed by Le Vau. The Château de Saint-Fargeau, which was the birthplace of the maternal family of the French academician Jean d'Ormesson, features prominently in his novel Au plaisir de Dieu, and was the setting for the TV series based on the novel.
