Description
Tragedy, vaudeville or fairy tale? Place your bets! Les Dramaticules draw on every facet of their art and relish bringing to life one of the greatest monsters of Elizabethan theatre. Les Dramaticules, led by Jérémie Le Louët, made this play their debut on the stage. Following a run of productions in which they excelled in a style of theatre brimming with theatrical artifice and earthy exuberance, they return to their roots—not only to the origins of their collective adventure, but also to a vision of free and exuberant performance. Revisited by Ionesco, this *Macbett* has the air of *Ubu Roi* with a touch of boulevard theatre. A whirling production, performers who shine with their chemistry, a sense of the burlesque taken to the highest level… Quoting Marx, the team warns us: ‘History always repeats itself twice: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.’ Might the same be true of the theatre?
