Description

How many steps lead to wisdom? The TAIM’ Company is crafting a coming-of-age tale featuring an acrobatic dancer, an actress, two musicians… and a strange staircase. As a director, Marie Teissier has often successfully engaged with very young audiences. Changing scale, she now invites teenagers to gather at the foot of a staircase and around a timeless question: what does it mean to grow up? It’s simple: just climb step by step… Unless an enigmatic “staircase dweller” turns each step into a test of truth! There are seven of them, each triggering a distinct soundscape performed by a skilful musical duo whose style ranges from jazz to trance. Portrayed by an acrobatic dancer, the child embarking on this adventure is called Zénoï, whilst Marie Teissier plays the recalcitrant staircase dweller… As for the staircase imagined by the author Nathalie Papin, on stage it becomes a dizzying bamboo scaffold. Through movement, words and music, an epic journey from childhood to adulthood!
