Description
An original play written by Eve Meslin, accompanied by a symphony orchestra, with music composed especially for the event by Patrice Bréfort. In the heart of ancient Greece, Queen Hippolyta's destiny is turned upside down when King Theseus and the warrior Antianera try to snatch her magic belt, a symbol of power and wealth. Alongside her, her lover Antiope and her ministers Sinope and Laodice try to resist the violence and decide how to fight back. This tragi-comedy revisits the characters of Greek mythology with a resolutely contemporary energy. Behind the breathless adventure lie highly topical issues: power, domination, violence, the place of women and men.... An intense, captivating play in which antiquity casts a powerful, modern light on our times.
