Description
The mysterious sea is an endless source of inspiration for artists. Elusive, it invites reverie. Calm or violent, it carries us as much as it resists or submerges us. Like the title "The sea is your mirror", taken from the poem Man and the Sea by Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867), looking at the sea in the mirror is a way of meditating on our existence and realising the power of nature.
Whether inspired by the fantastic creatures of the sea, conjuring up mermaids, imagining underwater life or denouncing its disrespect, the artists invite us to plunge into magical and poetic worlds, while telling us something about themselves.
