Danser Brut + Danse-toi !

Whether you’re a die-hard video enthusiast or a dance fan, we invite you to an immersive film journey through several schools. From Auxerre and beyond, in groups or solo, pupils share their stories, demonstrating that dance is unrivalled in fostering a sense of community… Danser Brut and Danse-toi ! : the same verb at the heart of two video works presented as a diptych. Facing Brano Gilan’s camera—which becomes a partner in the process—Julie Gouju invited pupils to let a ‘raw’ dance emerge in the moment: fleeting and explosive, resulting in captivating choreographic portraits. In contrast, *Danse-toi!* captures a joyful collective movement performed by pupils filmed within their schools. Here, dance sweeps through like a wave of joy, making its way through different spaces and transforming them… A spotlight on a generation full of promise.
