Carte blanche à Maryse Estier

In the 1830s, Delphine de Girardin hosted one of the most popular salons in the whole of literary Paris. Lamartine, Hugo, Gautier, Balzac… they all attended. A novelist, poet, playwright and journalist, yet almost forgotten, she is remembered as a modern writer, both sophisticated and socially engaged. For this ‘Midi au Théâtre’ event, director Maryse Estier invites us to ‘host a salon’ and opens up a space for conversation, reading and exploration centred on Delphine de Girardin. The aim: to lift the veil on the work involved in adapting her novel *Napoline* for the stage, due to be performed at the theatre next spring. The invitation is out!
