Description
In partnership with La Quinzaine, Olivier Lefebvre presents two talks at Café Point, a community and cultural venue.
La Quinzaine dansée offers a multitude of representations of the body, far removed from the image that still dominates the collective imagination today: that of the classical body, that perfect body which seems to barely touch the ground and soar towards the sky. Sublime ballerinas, ethereal tutus: it is up there that we must look, right up there and never downwards, towards that floor which reminds us that we are falling – yes, we are falling.
Crash! Conflicts pass through here—globalised conflicts, resulting in millions of deaths.
For a dancer, it is a shock; believe me, a source of deep reflection, to be sure, and not the least significant, since, since 1914, many have abandoned the quest for the heavens in favour of exploring our relationship with the ground, our relationship with others – with that ‘other’ seen as either a partner or an adversary.
In partnership with La Quinzaine, Olivier Lefebvre presents two talks at Café Point, a community and cultural venue. On the programme: ‘The Body and Conflict’ and ‘Emerging from Chaos’, an opportunity to explore the themes that inform choreographic creation. All illustrated with images, of course!
