Lavoirs and vineyards of the Auxerrois region - 65 km. Leaving Auxerre, after adjusting your bikes, you'll head for the banks of the Yonne and ride along the Canal du Nivernais to Cravant, a charming medieval village with a number of historic monuments: the 12th-century keep, the wash house, the Maison de Bois near the fountain sculpted by local craftsman Yves Varanguin. After a stroll through the village, you'll be back on the banks of the canal, heading for Accolay, an old pottery village, and Vermenton. You will then leave the banks of the canal to cross the Vermenton countryside, discover the little wash-house at Puits de Courson, and join the wine villages of Chitry and Saint Bris le Vineux. It is here that you will have the pleasure of entering a 10th-century cellar for a tasting of 3 wines. You will then return to the banks of the Yonne, which you will follow calmly as far as Auxerre.
