3 artists from Icaun install their works in the Museum's garden. Terracotta sculptures by Jacques CANONICI i "archaic renaissant", whose work is based on the power of movement and the essential relationship between light and volume. The unpolished roughness reveals the vital, untamed force of the desires expressed by the faces and bodies. But a gracefulness in the movements, impulses that sometimes go as far as the edge of imbalance, soften and poetise this raw sensuality.
Marie-Noêlle NOURY will be presenting resin sculptures of her character "Maurice", created in 2002 as a tribute to "Mauricette", Francis Marshall's little girl-wife, who can be seen at the Fabuloserie in Dicy, in the Yonne department. Maurice reflects the good and bad sides of life in a very human way, with a face that is sad or happy, sceptical or cheerful, pensive or hilarious, inward-looking or outward-looking.
A creator of "Art-Récup", Frank MERCKY works almost exclusively with the elements he gleans. Humanoid, his characters can be found in all sorts of everyday postures. Animal-like, they become dragons, slightly phantasmagorical beasts... the dream, the fantastic. Imagination and humour, always.
