At the heart of this approach is the idea that it is salutary to stage bodies and faces that are often denied, to restore to their singularity the force of evidence. This human density is at the heart of Hercules and the Missives, an adventure whose first echoes were heard during a residency, through letters freely addressed by these exiles to friends, to the youth of their country, to mythical animals, to the future.... Twenty-five letters, some of which have come back to us today, relayed by other exiles met along the way. Five of them are directed by Virginie Soum and choreographed with delicacy by Selin Dündar. Five of them... plus one, Hercules, a fictional character born from the pen of author and fellow traveller Saturnin Barré. Played by Ludovic Féménias, Hercules is an immigration officer who, to ward off his impotence, decides one day to set sail, to take these writings with him to their addressees, backwards from the migration, where it all began. A poetic gesture to transmit, and that these letters never remain dead letters.
